About the Host

Our family has a deep love for the Sierra Nevada. Growing up, we spent countless vacations in Twain Harte and Pinecrest—swimming in the lakes, exploring the trails, and soaking up the peace of the mountains. Nature has always been where we feel most at home.

When our son was born with a serious medical condition, our world shifted. We spent months in hospitals, learning to live moment by moment. Through that experience, we realized how important it was to create meaningful memories—for him, his twin sister, and our whole family. We dreamed of finding a place surrounded by nature, where we could slow down, reconnect, and just be together.

That dream led us to this cabin. It became our family’s sanctuary, full of laughter, love, and healing. Now, we’re honored to share it with others looking for that same kind of connection—whether you're here for adventure, relaxation, or simply time with the people who matter most.

We named our company Wilder Phoenix Retreats after our children’s middle names. “Wilder” reflects our love for nature and the spirit of adventure, while “Phoenix” symbolizes resilience, hope, and new beginnings. Together, they represent not just our journey, but the heart behind every space we share.
